Welcome to 7th Grade World History! For this course, we will be following the California State Standards as we study World History from 500-1789. Our reading guide through the year will be Prentice Hall’s Medieval and Early Times. We will be learning about the civilizations and the contributions from the following countries: Rome, Afica, China, Japan, Mesoamerica (Aztetecs/Mayas), and Medieval Europe. In addition to these civilizations, we will be learning about the exciting advances and changes that came out of the Reformation, the Renaissance, the Scientific Revolution (Yes!), Exploration, and the Enlightenment. Let the adventure begin!

1. Make up/create 15 questions for an assessment. Please make sure to include an answer key with the questions. Students may use multiple choice, true/false, matching, fill-in-the-blank, short answer, and essay questions. They may type it up like a normal assessment but it isn't required.
2. They should work on their home mind map. Add recently learned information to each branch. Do this without looking up information. After students have done what they can, they should then compare to their mind map to their notes. Next, they review each branch of the mind map in the order that the information was learned/taught.
3. Review the attached PowerPoint.
4. We will have a quick Mayas assessment on Tuesday of next week.
